Patients rest at the clinic for few hours and can then go home. Below is a description of our plastic surgery techniques for the face. Facelift
A facelift is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures for the face that can completely transform your looks. You can immediately eliminate age marks wrinkles and jawlings with a facelift, giving your face a younger appearance.
Eyelid Tuck
An eyelid tuck is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures. The principle of this procedure is to remove the redundant fat (eyebags) and excess eyelid tissue . If there is no excess eyelid tissue to be removed, the eyebags can be removed from the inside of the eyelid (Trans-conjunctival blepharoplasty).
Nose Reshape
Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a "nose job" is also an extemely common cosmetic surgery procedure. It involves reshaping the nose and its underlying bone and cartilage to create a nose profile that better compliments the other features of the face.
Ear Reshape
This procedure can reshape or reposition the ears, making them protrude less. It is commonly used by people with larger than normal or prominent ears . It can also help people who have damaged ears.
Face Augmentation
Face augmentation uses Fat Transplantation (transfer), one of the most predictable and safe procedures in cosmetic surgery. The principle of this procedure is to remove some fat cells from unwanted areas such as hips and buttocks. This fat can be transplanted either in small amounts as a filler to abolish facial wrinkles and frown lines or used to augment (enlarge) the lips and cheek bones.
Mechanical Peel
Dermabrasion is one of the oldest and most time tested procedures in cosmetic surgery. It involves removing part of the superficial layer of the skin (epidermis) to allow the deeper layer (dermis) to form a replacement. This procedure is used to reduce or smooth out wound scars, acne scars and fine wrinkles. It can also be used to prepare the skin for the lightning of certain dark or pigmented areas.
Liposuction
Fat can collect under the skin of the floor of the mouth to form a double chin. Liposuction can remove fat accumulation in the lower part of the face, under chin area and upper neck. During the procedure tumescent fluid is injected to numb the area, through a small opening behind the ear. Then through the same opening, liposuction is carried out.
At the end of the procedure, a layer of soft adhesive foam and a pressure bandage is applied. This is removed after 48 hours. The bandage has to be worn most of the time (23 hours a day) for the first week, then gradually reduced over a 4-6 weeks period. The skin will shrink giving the lower part of the face a youthful appearance.
Lip Augmentation
As previously mentioned fat transplantation has become an established technique for augmenting some part of the body. Fat is harvested from unwanted areas, such as the tummy, inner thighs or buttocks.
After numping the lips, fat is injected through the corner of the mouth under local anaesthetic. Some degree of swelling should be expected for the first few days. Fat gives longer lasting results than artificial fillers such as hyaluronic acid that usually last just 6 months. Both techniques are available at You New. Contact us to find out more.
Note to Patients:
You should refrain from smoking, using any Nicotin products (patches or chewing gum) and blood thinning medicine like Aspirin or Ibuprofen for at least 7 days before surgery. Chinese green tea and Vitamin-E tablets may cause bleeding so you should also avoid these for one week before surgery.
The results are not always predictable and like any other surgery there are some unlikely problems which we will explain before surgery. They can happen even with the best medical care.
During fat transplantation procedures, some of the transplanted fat will be absorbed (around 30-50%). occasionally it is necessary to repeat the procedure . Also an extra amount of fat will be injected (over correction) to compensate for the absorbed fat. This may lead to some swelling in the first 2-4 weeks.
Small amounts of (extra) fat can be frozen for up to 3 months. It was recently discovered that the fat tissue contains Adult Stem Cells. Those cells are capable of evoluting to specialized cells of the area that are injected into. Complications are rare with fat transplantation because it is a minimally invasive procedure (no cuts).
